For maximising dps i recommend getting gear with +agi, + stam and +int on it.

crit strike is also important and well as hit rating and attack power.

as an example this is my main character, yes i know he needs work but this is my talent build.

I use the shot rotation of sepent sting, explosive shot, aimed shot and steady shot, also throw in a concussive shot if i get to much aggro.

As a level 80 hunter learning how and when to use traps is important as well.

IMPORTANT NOTE

I have been kicked from many raids for staying to long on aspect of the viper - my advise is to use mana pots if you have them to avoid dps downtime and if you have *at least* 25% mana remaining then stay with aspect of the dragonhawk, usually just spamming auto shot will get the job done anyway.
